Artists Comment:
My grand-daughter had just broken her arm while playing rough. It brought
back memories of my own childhood. Me and my brother were real hell-raisers!
It is a wonder that I ever made it to adulthood. There is a certain charm
about a grubby youngster that gives her "all" while playing.
I am trying very hard to free color. I want it to do more than just delineate
forms. In this picture color is largely independent of the form

This is a detail of the girls right shoulder. Do you see the America-On-Line CD, and the cardboard mailer? My use of cast-off materials gives them a new purpose and possibly a higher level of importance than they had before. This applies to people too!
