Artists Comment:
I admire Henri Matisse very much. He was a master of Minimalist painting, which
I love. This painting is my version of his gigantic Snail cutout artwork. I
tried two things differently for this painting. First, I painted on the rough
side of the Masonite panel. And secondly, I painted in the landscape orientation
which is very unusual for me.
